TVScoop Poll: Big Brother starts in two weeks’ time – will you be watching?

The old fashioned signs that summer is just beginning were the first cuckoo, lighter evenings and men rushing to take their tops off. But the things that really say “summer” to me are the Chelsea Flower Show (last week), the French Open (the next two weeks) and the start of Big Brother (which kicks off in a fortnight) – is that sad…? But when those flashes of the new BB eye crop up on Channel 4, how do they make you feel? Excited? Annoyed? Bored? Personally, I *know* that even though I’m not expecting much, I’ll still watch every single day – but what about all of you lovely people: will you be watching Big Brother 2008?

I’m starting to wonder if anyone actually watches it anymore or everyone just reads about it in the paper/internet…

Also last year’s series seemed to be about 6 months long. The whole thing is now ridiculously convoluted and just drags on. I find the concept interesting and were it just on twice a week I might even watch it, but 7 days a week, with two shows on Fridays and a whole bunch of tie-in shows…
The main series is what, 8 hours a week for 13 weeks so 104 hours… for comparison, Lost is doing 117 hours over 6 years (and people say that’s slow!) In the time spent watching a single year of Big Brother one could fit in the entire 86-episode run of The Sopranos.
Myeh, decent show, but not good enough to ever justify giving that much time over to.
