If you’re telling me there’s been a better sitcom on the box than Gavin and Stacey this year, then you have big brown poo coming out of your mouth. It came out of the blue for me and swept me off my feet. And that’s unusual for a gentle and warming comedy series. But the writing is so good, the acting is so great, Alison Steadman has another brilliant comedy role to sink her teeth into and Rob Brydon is back on Marrion and Geoff form. And now we reach the end of the series. It’s a must-watch, folks.

The final episode sees Nessa in labour a month early, which sees the Welsh (and, in particular, Bryn) panic like it’s going out of fashion. Then there’s the English side of things – Pam is going nuts, and the boys rush to be at Nessa’s bed side. But will Smithy make it in time and negotiate the Severn Bridge toll?

It’s all bubbling up nicely…
