There is, of course, a short answer to the question: Can a person have too much John Barrowman? And, of course, it doesn't just apply to John Barrowman, it could be: Can a person have too much of anyone? But let's talk about John Barrowman. He acts, he dances, he sings, he appears as a judge on a singing contest, he's an action hero, he releases albums, he appears on chatshows, he even probably does his own washing up, ironing and takes out his rubbish. He's a good-looking boy too. Is there any end to his talents? No, I don't think so actually. He's good at everything he does. He's mega-talented and good luck to him. I'm not here to begrudge him of his deserved success, I'm just here to ask: Can a person have too much John Barrowman?

Let's look at what he's doing at the moment. He recently released an album, so he appeared on loads of chatshows promoting his product, singing ballads and hamming to the camera. He appeared as a judge on the Eurovision thing, he was doing the action hero thing in Torchwood and he even presented the National Lottery show.
Now he's firmly ensconsed on the judging panel in I'd Do Anything, which I'm enjoying, he's still in Torchwood (ends this Friday) and he's being lined up for even more stuff.
He'll be in Doctor Who (starts Saturday) and he's hosting a new Saturday teatime quiz, The Kids Are Alright, in a few week's time. At some stage in the next month or so we may have the scenario where he's in three things on a Saturday night.
Nothing wrong with Barrowman at all. I just worry that this constant exposure will turn people off him... I'm already shuddering at the thought of wall-to-wall Barrowman on a Saturday night. Surely there are other, talented presenters/actors out there that can do the same job just as well?
So to answer my question... yes, a person can have too much John Barrowman!

in short- NO! there is no such thing as too much barrowman!
Fine. If you think the UK is done with him, we here in the US would be thrilled to have him!
He's an absolute joy to watch! Wall to wall Barrowman on a Saturday night sounds like a dream come true! (While you're at it, send Graham Norton and Simon Amstell too.)
well as Torchwood ends on Friday as you say, there will only be one show that you're very likely to see him on, and one other that you may see him on! And as the viewer chooses what they watch, there can't be too much John Barrowman, can there?
But as he's such a good looking, genuine, full of life kinda guy, why wouldn't you tune in to anything he's on?
Hmmm he is decidedly dishy I have to say :) But I do know what you mean... on the other hand I for example cannot get enough of Stephen Fry, I would be quite content to watch him read the daily newspapers and still enjoy it... Barrowman may not be everyone's cup of tea, but then again better him then the likes of Kerry bleeding Kantona :)
Don't forget panto in Birmingham and the release of his memoir a while back.
Um, not that I went to see him in panto or bought his book or anything. I also definitely don't have a picture of him pinned to my desk divider at work. Really.
You went all the way to see Barrowman to Birmingham?
Now thats what I call dedication... then again I just returned from East Anglia, the home county of Stephen Fry... :) My gay older man crushes have got to stop :)
On the good side, I'm sure you have at least got some good shopping out of it :)
I could never have enough Barrowman. I could watch him Morning, noon and all night. I have been lucky to meet him on more then one occasion and hes such a great guy. I'll be seeing him in concert and in panto this year so bring it on...And yes I do have the book & I queued more then 3 hours to meet him at the book signing in Birmingham
You can never have too much John Barrowman- he's funny, charming, down-to-earth and incredibly gifted as well as multi-talented and he's also very happy in his personal life, so the answer I think personally is NO- you can never have too much of John Barrowman
I think you forgot to mention his autobiography on the list of achievements.
But I'll paraphrase a comment above - if you're done with him in the UK by all means send him and Scott on an extended holiday down here to Australia - PLEASE
Bertas, don't put me in the stalker category just yet. I grew up not far from Brum and my family and best friend still live up there. She booked the tickets!
Any old excuse but to drag in your family tssss :)
I'm kidding... honestly :) As I said Barrowman is dishy, plus I think us females need a worthy cause to crush over, it is a natural progression from boy bands of our youths... I for some reason picked Stephen Fry :)
Then again I'm a person who thinks Brum is not THAT bad... I did a postgrad course at the university there...
I'll second the "Send him to the US". One can never have too much John Barrowman, at least in my opinion. He's funny, witty, intelligent, and a hottie. ;)
I agree with the send him to the US.
Also I'm sure there are people out there would are better at presenting but they probably think it's beneath them to do it.
John treats every job as equal and that comes across that he truly enjoys every little thing he does.
Hey remenber YOU had your turn....Central Park West.....Titans...
Never! Here in America, there's not enough John Barrowman to go around!
No. No you cannot. He is amazing. I live in Australia....we only get he's appearances in Doctor Who over here, nothing more. And it irritates me. Because I'm in love with him.
I think John Barrowman is one of the most real actors I`ve seen in years. And he`s like the Golden Era actors of the 50`s who could act, sing and dance- ain`t nothing wrong with that! Send him & Scott to Canada, I`d have tea with them any day!
There is never too much John Barrowman. I too could watch him morning, noon and night.
I am about to make my second visit to the Panto. I certainly cannot get enough of him.
