The grinding relentlessness of time and television mean two things tonight – it’s Wednesday already and there’s more to watch on a television set near you.
It’s Middlesbrough versus Sheffield United on BBC One from 8, so it’s best to look elsewhere for entertainment tonight. Masterchef edges ever closer to its denouement on BBC Two at 8pm (they’re cooking for Michelin-starred chefs tonight), while Torchwood follows at 9. The brilliant doc series Wonderland follows at 9.50, with tonight’s subject… a 92-year-old danger junkie. Double yikes.
On ITV1 there’s brand-new Taggart after The Bill at 9, but it’s worth staying up late for Dexter at 10.35pm. You will be hooked on this superior serial killer drama in no time. More picks on the other side…
It’s a bit rubbish tonight on Channel 4 if truth be told. There’s the solid and reliable Relocation Relocation at 8, Grand Designs Revisited at 9 and the channel’s lifestyle strand is polished off by Ramsay’s Kitchen Nightmares USA at 10.
Elsewhere, there’s tear-jerking Extraordinary People: Hope For Hayley on five at 9, Freaky Eaters on BBC Three at the same time, tyhe highly-entertaining Reaper on E4 also at 9 and The interesting-looking The Worlds Of Fantasy on BBC Four at, you guessed it, 9.
