I don’t want to jinx anything, but I have to say that Lily Allen And Friends last night didn’t suck. Lily didn’t read her interview questions off her cards, and she didn’t use that cheesy, “Now, [enter name of guest here], my friends aren’t just here in this room, they’re all over the world, connected by the world wide web” line! What is going on? Has BBC Three been reading TV Scoop? But perhaps the best part of this show was that they didn’t even have the animals making love feature! This week’s episode was like a totally different show, and thank god, because with the way it was going, I didn’t think I could hang out with Lily and her Friends one more week.
Some chick from EastEnders was Lily’s first guest, and she was followed by Mark Ronson wearing another one of those incredibly skinny, mod suits he’s so fond of. He seems like perhaps he would be a nice guy, if only he was forced to wear some sweatpants and eat at a McDonalds on the weekend like the rest of us common folk. Despite his massive ego taking up most of the set, Lily did her best to try to and humble him a bit and cut him down to size in her own blokey, “you can’t get mad at me because we did a song together that one time” kind of way.
YouTube sensation Britney Houston and Ben Miller were also on the show, although I can’t really say much about Miller, as he wasn’t particularly funny. However, Britney Houston seemed to be particularly happy to be there, and we were treated to her lip syncing Leona Lewis’ Bleeding Love. Mark Ronson stopped starting at his reflection in his beer glass long enough to be nice to Britney and “presented” her rendition of Bleeding Love by standing there with his guitar looking smug.
Overall, this episode of Lily Allen And Friends was by far the best yet. No animals making love, no reading off of her cards, and no lame “web talk”. Well done, Lily. Keep it up, and this show may actually take off!

When I watched the show I thought it was so well done that I had to go and see it being made and luckily I managed to get tickets! It was entertaining and funny being part of the audience and i lvoe every second. Not boring or tedious as had been suggested by certain sources.
I think what makes it so good is the relaxed state of the interview process and the guest’s and Lily’s ability to just have a good time without beign so serious!
Love It!!!
