Frank Kelly is one of the most underrated comedy actors around. His portrayal of the gruesome Father Jack Hackett in Father Ted is unparalleled. Kelly’s performance led many to run around pubs up and down the country shouting “arse!”, “girls!” and “drink!” So with that, it brings me no pleasure at all to tell you that Frank Kelly has been diagnosed with bowel cancer.
Kelly is currently undergoing a seven-month chemotherapy course after having a tumour removed last year. He said; “The tumour was the size of a bloody cabbage. I had discomforts and symptoms that I thought were just bowel problems. But when you’re told it’s cancer, it doesn’t come as such a massive shock. I’ve made a complete recovery. But I need chemo to reduce the chance of it returning.”
All at TVScoop wish Frank a speedy recovery. Please read over to watch Kelly in action.
