What is going on with Adrian Childs' facial hair?

It's a question that is probably being asked throughout the land. Well, probably not, but Adrian Childs – genial host of all kinds of things – has decided to grow some facial hair. A brave move indeed. I've been turning on to The One Show occasionally – it's really improved since Christine Bleakley joined up – and last night I was interested to see that Adrian was sporting a healthy face-lawn of stubble. He was taking some serious stick too.

I like facial hair (on a man). Ever since I decided to grow a beard a year or two ago, my facial hair – apart from getting food caught in it – has improved my life no end. I feel more distinguished, and people treat me with more respect. Well, sort of. Not necessarily after I've written a review of Robin Hood, but there you go. But I feel like a man goddamnit, and my beard is cared for with daily shampoos and conditioners to make sure a) any food stuck in there is washed away completely, and b) that it retains shine and bounce. I even got an industrial-standard beard trimmer for Christmas. It's bloody massive. Anyway, I've gone off track haven't I? The burning question is: do you think Adrian's facial hair is a good thing?

I'm normally a fan of facial hair in a rugged kind of way... but it just looks wrong on Adrian!

I turned over only to see Adrian getting a cut-throat shave last night on The One Show. I didn't even get to see the full spectacle, god damn it!
