As ITV have proved, no-one is really bothered about when the news is on, which is why you shouldn’t be surprised that Neighbours will air at 5.30pm when it starts on Five on February 11. Five’s news bulletin will move to 5pm to allow the Aussie soap to run straight into Home and Away at 6pm. Also, sticking with the Beebs formula, a lunchtime Aussie block will also be created, with Neighbours airing at 1.45pm. There will also be a Saturday omnibus starting at 12.30pm. Students! Rejoice!

Five have done totally the right thing in keeping the transmission times essentially the same. I think it’ll mean that they’ll lose very few viewers in the switchover.
