When I first glanced at my emails yesterday, I thought that this was just another one of those nob-enhancement projects that my poor old inbox is bombarded with every single day of the week. Then I saw the email was from Channel 4 and I knew that all was well. Willie’s Wonky Chocolate Factory (was a S**T title for a series) starts in March and, title aside, it looks quite interesting.
The four-part series follows Willie Harcourt-Cooze (I beg your pardon) – a man on a mission to produce the best chocolate in the world. For my money, he’s got some way to go if he wants to beat the chocolate Hob Nob, but this guy wants to produce ethically-beautiful chocolate and make it fine from bean to bar. Read on for more…
Willie, his wife Tania and their three young children, wants to fulfill his dream of growing his own cocoa beans from his Venezuelen farm and then turn them into premium chocolate at his Devon factory. Er, sounds as though he’s got everything he needs to do it, so why doesn’t he? This series will follow the journey he and his family takes to get to that point.
He wants to be one of the few Brits – outside Cadbury – to make chocolate on his soil, and he aims to launch three new 100 per cent cocoa bars, each made with chocolate ‘liquor’ and different flavoured beans.
Willie will also be running through some chocolate recipes and wife Tania will also be letting us in on the ‘chocolate diet’, which is very good for you apparently.
Stupid title aside, I’ll be watching this. Willie could to chocolate what Rick Stein is to fish (if that makes any sense at all!).

I met Willie and the producer of the show recently. I am definitely going to tune in (and not just because I’m obsessed with chocolate). From what I hear, and from meeting Willie in person, it should be quite entertaining!
What a twat.
