Coming Soon... a reality TV show about reality TV

nz317.jpgOh. This is clever-clever. Ever wondered what would happen if the cameras of a reality TV show turned in on itself? I have. I've daydreamed about heaving reptilians hulking around secreting toxic ooze whilst lining up a variety of young doe-eyeds with vacuous fame grabbers licking each inch of bare flesh and snorting the word 'fame' in acrid plumes of black fog before shouting ACTION! Of course, a new show on Sky 186 won't provide me with my David Icke-esque 'truth'...

The blurb for this show promises "a ground breaking and truly unique reality show" which will show ("for the first time in Broadcast history!") a TV Station turn the cameras on itself so we can see what really goes on behind the camera’s and how TV really works. The Office and Studio 60 will seem tame by comparison (apparently). So what is this show called?

Basically, the show looks at the warts behind a reality show and is willing to show us what goes on behind the cameras of a reality TV show at a small digital TV station broadcasting on the SKY platform to millions across the UK. The first part of the series will see Red, (which has risen "like a phoenix from the ashes of Legal TV") at a busy modern industrial unit in inner city Birmingham from where "a dedicated crew of experienced professionals and helpers broadcast to the nation on SKY 186".

The first show opens with the studio in disarray with the director walking out with a huge hissy fit only minutes before a new TV show goes live. All the camera work and shooting of TV Reality (there, I knew I'd get the name of the show in eventually) is carried out by the channel controller which adds a bizarre twist to the proceedings.
