I’ve stuck up for BBC Three loads. For alt.comedy shows it’s great! However, for every new Rob Newman vehicle there is a preposterous documentary. Think Freaky Eaters… Think Dog Borstal… and now Can Fat Teens Hunt? (BBC Three, Tuesday, 9pm). Yes. You read that correctly.

This ludicrous series follows ten frighteningly fat teenagers as they are sent on a stupidly perilous journey that could save their lives… but lose a few animals theirs. Presumably, this is a last resort to whip the teens into shape as they leave their bad habits behind in favour of spending a month with the Iban tribe in the jungles of Borneo. They arrive, dreaming of pies and cake and greeted with the sight of the slaughtering of a live pig. The Iban ask their guests if they fancy joining in… and the teens start thinking about their playstations. Watch this to remind yourself just how surreal the world we live in actually is.
