Alan Titchmarsh - he's not just about gardening (and TV chat shows), you know. He's the face of natural history on TV, and as such he's presenting this new eight-part flagship series focusing on the wonderful wildlife we have right here in Britain. Producers seem so obsessed with the exotic that our we often forget that fabulous flora and fauna exists within our own green and pleasant land.

In this first episode Alan travels the length of the country - from the almost-Arctic landscape of the northern-most Scottish isles, to the rather more temperate climate of England's south coast.
