Yes, you’ve seen the BBC Two adverts (hopefully, or that opening paragraph would appear terribly surreal), you’ve been told Thursdays Are Funny, now it’s time to be convinced. The talent on show certainly bodes well. At 9pm we have The Life And Times Of Vivienne Vyle, starring not only Jennifer Saunders, but also Queenie herself, Miranda Richardson. Co-written by House Of Tiny Tearaways presenter Tanya Byron, the comedy follows Ms Vyle and her daytime talk show. Jerry Springer and the like may have already been ridiculed rather extensively, but hey, some more Jeremy Kyle-bashing can’t be a bad thing.

Then at 9.30pm the hilarity continues – we hope – with The Peter Serafinowicz Show. I’ve read a couple of pretty negative previews about this, and then a couple which absolutely love it, so I guess we’ll just have to watch and make up our own minds. Even if the comedy isn’t top notch, the impersonations certainly will be…

If you’re a complete mad-man like Mof, you’ll want to avoid the That Mitchell and Webb Look repeats at 10pm, but you can always look forward to Never Mind The Buzzcocks, returning later in the Autumn.
