Tennant staying as Doctor Who (but that won’t stop the speculation)

By johnberesford on August 23rd, 2007 1 comment

tennant_2.jpgRussell T Davies has confirmed that David Tennant, voted the most popular Doctor ever, will stay at the controls of the TARDIS for the whole of the next series. He dismissed rumours that Tennant would be leaving after only six episodes as a “complete invention” by the press.

But speculation about who will replace him, which has continued unabated since the moment he stepped aboard the iconic time machine, is unlikely to diminish following Davies’ admission that exactly what will happen after that remains unclear. “None of us knows exactly what will happen after series four,” Davies said in an interview with Doctor Who Magazine, while seeming to suggest that it was possible Tennant would stay for the 2008 Christmas Special.
