Stephen Fry celebrates his 50th birthday today and as a special surprise from ITV, Stephen was treated to a huge chocolate cake. Stephen took time out from filming ratings winning drama series Kingdom to celebrate his 50th birthday with cast and crew members on the set in Norfolk. A source says ‘The cake was ordered as a special surprise, and it has been hard to keep it secret from Stephen’. Filming of the second series was stopped to present Stephen with his birthday treat.

“I did not have a clue what was happening. The crew had disappeared. Then I discovered that everyone was outside standing around this huge box cheering; I thought they had bought me a fridge, it was so big!” laughs Stephen. “But I was really touched – the cake is a work of art and it tastes divine.” If you want a cake like the one pictured, then you’ll need to get in touch with bespoke cake maker Choccywoccydoodah.
