In America, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation is one of the biggest shows currently airing, with William Petersen the 6th highest paid star in TV land. In the UK, it is hidden away late at night on Five – go figure. The forensics team returns tonight in their sixth outing after the fifth season finale which left fans exhausted by the race to save heartthrob Nick. Tonight’s instalment kicks off with the explosion of a trailer which arouses the team’s suspicions, while Grissom receives unexpected evidence about the identity of Nick’s kidnapper.

Now, like Law and Order: SVU which began again on Five, we are pretty behind matters in the US and so I am going to keep schtum in fear of divulging any plot spoilers. I will however admit to chuckling over the shampoo commercials by George Eads (Nick). I’ll bet those don’t see the light of day in America.

    isn’t this a repeat, though?
the last CSI series-ending cliffhanger i saw on five sara under a car. and that series was shown at 9pm…

    isn’t this a repeat, though? that’s why it’s on at 11pm. the nick-kidnapping thing was last-but-one season’s finale.

Its definitely a repeat because Ive already seen it on channel five quite a while back. I remember it because it creeped me out slightly.

Katie Button has got her facts wrong indeed. The late night Thursday eps of CSI on Five are old repeats – the most recent series of CSI finished its Tues night at 9pm run on Five about 6 weeks ago and is being reshown on Saturday nights now at 9. The Tues at 9 slot now has the new season of CSI Miami running. There is always a brand new CSI series running in the Tues at 9 slot on Five which then shifts to a fast second showing turnaround on Sat at 9 …So Katie – when you see a CSI on Five in a late night slot – its always an old repeat!
Oh…and the last season ended with the race to find / Save Sarah not Nick …you’re a few series out I’m afraid….must be those old repeats you are watching !

I am a Canadian living in the UK for the year… wow, I guess just like we get YOUR tv shows way behind schedule, it’s the same for our shows here. Is the 8th season of CSI going to air here in the UK this year, or am I destined to be a season behind when I get back home? I assume that if the new episodes DO come on, it will be on five?…
