I hate the UK’s obsession with Victoria Beckham. I find it completely illogical. Why are we supposed to give a damn just because she’s married to a footballer? She’s not talented – Hell, she sang less than Geri during their Spice Girl days, she’s not attractive and she’s not even likeable. I could have forgiven the scrawny looks and dismal career if only she seemed like a nice girl, someone you could share a pizza with and not wish she’d die by choking on a fat chunk of pepperoni. With her publicity machine moving to L.A to film her NBC reality show, I had hoped that news of her shopping, pouting and sucking up to Katie Holmes might fade to a quiet hush in the UK, but no such luck.

I have been allowed a wry smile though, as NBC have announced that their much-touted series on Posh has now been trimmed to a paltry hour-long special. Not much special about downgraded me thinks. When discussed back in February, the show was to be a six parter, but since husband David’s recall to the England squad, speculation had been mounting that the show could be scaled back without the soccer superstar. “Victoria Beckham: Coming to America” will air on July 16th in the States. I’m sure it will wing its way across the Atlantic to us at some point, though no date has been confirmed. I’ll have to make sure I’m washing my hair that night.
