A one-off comedy-drama on ITV1. In the middle of the week. With no real fanfare. Starring the people who used to be in Fresh Fields. Apparently. My word, it doesn’t exactly fill you with confidence, does it? So why have I asked you to Set The Video for this?

Well, see that guy with the leather jacket? It’s Richard Herring, isn’t it? And he doesn’t just star in this, he wrote it too. Now you’re interested. Because you’re the type of person who used to watch Fist of Fun, and This Morning with Richard, Not Judy (a comedy show which was broadcast on a Sunday lunchtime, making it the oddest piece of scheduling ever to grace our screens). Maybe you read his fabulous daily blog, Warming Up, too. So you know that anything this guy has written has got to be worth checking out. Even a mid-week comedy-drama on ITV1.

So, what’s it all about? Well it’s based around Ken and Margaret, who’ve gathered their family around them to celebrate their 45th wedding anniversary. As with all family reunions, there’s petty arguments, but also there’s the possibility of something much bigger blowing up. Figuratively, I’d imagine. Herring, the old devil, has cast himself as Ian, the younger son who has pretty girlfriend after pretty girlfriend. The guy’s no fool.

On paper, the premise may seem a little bland, but with Herring writing, I would think that there’ll be more than a dash of bite and wit about the dialogue.
