Michelle Ryan really has landed on her (bionic) feet having left Eastenders a few years back. She was last seen in the ITV adaptation of Jane Austen’s Mansfield Park, and now she is getting geeky fanboys all hot under the collar as the new Bionic Woman.

The sci-fi action yarn has been heralded as a ‘re-imagination’ of the David Eick original, (‘re-imagination’ – wasn’t that Tim Burton’s excuse for Planet of the Apes?) and it follows the success of his other reborn show Battlestar Galatica. This new, glossy, big-budget effort premieres on NBC this Autumn but no news, as yet on where or when it’ll turn up in our British TV schedules. The teaser trailer is already working it’s magic on YouTube, but can I take Zoe Slater seriously as a kick-ass heroine? You’ve gotta hand it to her though – the girl’s come a long way since slanging matches in the Vic and flogging knock-off clothes on the market stall. Big Mo would be proud!
