five picks up David Duchovny comedy

With all these new US shows getting the go-ahead, it wasn’t going to be too long before one of the UK channels made a move and flashed the cash. It turns out five has taken the plunge first, and snapped up another high-profile comedy series. Let’s hope it does better for them than the utterly loathsome Joey (see here and here for conflicting reviews on this one).

Californication stars ex-X-Files man David Duchovny as a troubled novelist, whose honesty and self-destructive behaviour are wrecking and enhancing his career at the same time. At least that’s what the press story from DS says… I have no idea what that means.

    You do know that’s what actors do, they reinvent their self. What could be the problem ? That said, after seeing the trailer for Duchovny’s series I’m really looking forward to it.
