It’s an incredible statistic, but The Simpsons was 20 years old last week. From humble beginnings on The Tracey Ullman Show, it’s now everyone’s favourite comedy show. From initial misunderstanding – the establishment thought that it was a bad influence on families all over the world – it’s now rightly credited as the sharpest satire on modern family life ever.

It also spawned TV’s best-ever character – lovable oaf Homer Simpson. To pay homage to the show, and the man, here’s a clip of best-ever Homer moments. The 10-minute clip has some of my favourite Homer moments in it too – from the skiing clip where he accidentally imagines Flanders in skinny-fit ski wear, the The X Files clip and the terrific Raiders of the Lost Ark parody.
