Postman Pat delivers in America

Postmanpat

After I reported the other day that a raft of British-made shows were being re-packaged for the American market, I hear news today the unlikiest of our telly characters is also about to head over to the US. Postman Pat, for it is he, (or at least the makers of) has signed a deal with American children’s network Qubo to start showing episodes.

I love the idea of Pat and Jess being flown over to LA first class, being plied with cocktails, courted by media moguls and hanging out with the Hollywood bad boy set. But watch out Pat… many a fine person has lost it in America. I can see the tabloid headlines now: “British postman in a hooker and cocaine shame”. And then there’s the acrimonious split between Pat and Jess after it all turns sour, and the subsequent best-selling kiss-and-tell book by Jess. Getting a bit ahead of myself, so I’ll stop now.
