Richard & Judy say sorry for You Say We Pay bungle

RichardjudyRichard and Judy are massive cheats! CHEATS CHEATS CHEATS! In fairness, that isn’t true in the slightest… but I needed to get your attention somehow. Richard and Judy are involved in a cheating scandal… and they’re not happy about it at all. In fact, they’re pretty bloody angry about it (on our behalf).

You see, the trouble surrounds the game that they run in their Richard and Judy show (every week day when The Paul O’Grady Show isn’t on) called You Say, We Pay. It would seem that the show has been fleecing honest callers out of money, and now someone’s gonna pay… and they’re going to pay out quite literally.

Channel 4 has said that it will refund callers to its Richard and Judy quiz if an investigation finds they were encouraged to enter without any prospect of winning.

It has been revealed that emails have been unearthed from the show’s producer Cactus TV which showed that people had still been encouraged to enter the quiz even though contestants had already been picked to take part.

Basically, the show gives viewers two prompts to ring in to play for big money. However, by the time of the second prompt, the participants for the game have already been chosen, leaving the second wave of callers pissing their money up the wall. Cheers.

Thankfully, Channel 4 have confirmed that the You Say, We Pay quiz had been suspended while it investigates the allegations, which it said were first brought to its attention on Friday.

"We are still investigating the claims made about the competition and don’t yet know the extent of any problem," a spokesman said.

"But we are absolutely clear that if it’s found that viewers have been encouraged to enter the competition after the cut-off point has passed for selecting a potential winner then the channel will offer a full refund to anyone affected. You Say, We Pay will not be broadcast as part of Richard and Judy tonight and will not resume until the channel has completed its investigation into how the competition is being run. We recognise that some of our viewers will feel they have been misled by the competition and we very much regret that."

Richard Madeley and Judy Finnigan responded by telling viewers of the quiz’s suspension, expressing their "shock" and "anger" over the allegations.

A visibly shaking Finnigan said: "Richard and I knew nothing about this until late on Friday afternoon – we were very shocked and also angry on your behalf. We’re very sorry." [Mof Gimmers]

    Dear Richard and Judy,
We are trying to contact you about the recent program about Brits that are leaving the country. We are retirees (sixties and 46 years married) who have a unique perspective by living for several months, over several years in 3 different continents. We are getting to the age where we are trying to make a decision of where spend our old age. You announced that you were looking for candidate people that you might like to interview

This the only afternoon show worst than “That Antony Cotton Show”. Premium Telephone Lines are an expensive waste of money except for the T.V. Companies. So it was a scam and the silly blighters expecting to win something for nothing got their fingers burnt. They say learning is a slow process.
