See this woman (pictured left) here? Do you remember her from Channel 4's Wife Swap? Well, she's Lizzie and she could be made into a character in a musical. Far from being some sick joke invented by me, this strange news is all true.

Wife Swap, and BBC One's political debate programme Question Time are to be given the musical treatment by the creators of Jerry Springer - The Opera. Comedian Stewart Lee and writing partner Richard Thomas, are writing versions of both as part of five 30-minute episodes for a new BBC Two series, Kombat Opera Presents.

BBC executive editor of comedy commissioning John Rolph said the shows would be "funny and daring"... although... I'm not sure about either to be quite honest. The series will feature a lead, non-singing comedy character backed by a 45-piece BBC concert orchestra, with a cast of professional opera singers and West End actors. Fancy it? [Mof Gimmers]
