Spooks is the kind of show where when you hear that it’s coming back you let out an ear-splitting cheer, and make sure you’re going to be in on the first night or double-check that the vid is set.
And you’re not entirely sure why you’re cheering because, let’s face it, no-one really knows what’s going on from one episode to the next, but somehow it doesn’t matter because you get caught up in the cleverness of it all, the imponderability and the glamour of "Five." You might even get a little bit bemused about why "Five" is on BBC One instead of…well…Five.
There was lots to ponder about in series…Five (see what I did there?). Like how they got that skeleton to walk about, why Ruth had to go off on that tramp steamer like something out of Kidnapped, and why Adam kept waking up with nightmares when his Nanny was sleeping with him already.
Still, anything you weren’t sure about is bound to be cleared up in (get ready with that cheer) Series Six, which is coming your way in Autumn 2007.
