Heard of Heroes? You’re about to. Heroes is a ratings smash over in the states and it’s coming over here!
The cult drama has been snapped up by BBC Two which follows the story of a group of people scattered around the globe who wake up with superhuman powers – and gradually realise that the fate of mankind is in their hands. Whooooooo! The UK rights have already gone to the Sci Fi channel, part of the NBC Universal group, which will begin airing the show in January. BBC Two will start the terrestrial run after it airs on satellite.
"We’re really looking forward to bringing this innovative and compelling fantasy drama to a terrestrial television audience later next year," said BBC Two controller Roly Keating.
