HeroesHeard of Heroes? You're about to. Heroes is a ratings smash over in the states and it's coming over here!

The cult drama has been snapped up by BBC Two which follows the story of a group of people scattered around the globe who wake up with superhuman powers - and gradually realise that the fate of mankind is in their hands. Whooooooo! The UK rights have already gone to the Sci Fi channel, part of the NBC Universal group, which will begin airing the show in January. BBC Two will start the terrestrial run after it airs on satellite.

"We're really looking forward to bringing this innovative and compelling fantasy drama to a terrestrial television audience later next year," said BBC Two controller Roly Keating. Sue Deeks, head of series programme acquisition at BBC Television, called Heroes an "an intriguing, intelligent and irresistible drama." Get excited! [Mof Gimmers via D:S]

Good! Heroes is the best American TV show I've seen in two or three years. It blows Lost away completely... I'm just worried that BBC2 will show it in the early evening in its old Buffy slot instead of right in the middle of prime time, which is where it should be.

I've seen the first 10 episodes and would highly recommend the show. very slow building with loads of interesting characters.

nathan petrelli i love your character its amazing when you fly
