PeterhawkinsPeter Hawkins, the voice of the first Daleks in Doctor Who, has passed away aged 82.

Hawkins didn’t only voice the infamous metallic monsters famed for crying EX-TERM-IN-ATE!He is also the creator of the iconic voices of Bill and Ben. It was his creation of the lanuage known as ‘oddle poddle’ that made The Flowerpotmen so enjoyable to watch.

Hawkins’ also did the voices of kids’ TV fave Zippy from Rainbow in its first series, along with Super Ted and Captain Pugwash. Not only that, but he also provided the insane vocoder laugh of the Smash robots. One of TV undersung heroes, and unbeknown to most, the voice of most of our childhoods.[Mof Gimmers]
