Life just hasn’t been the same since The Office. And while Martin Freeman (Tim) and Mackenzie Crook (Gareth) have both gone on to bigger and better things, we’ve all been secretly wishing them back in Slough, safely installed at their desks in Wernham Hogg, where they belong. Sorry, guys.

Well, we may be about to get our wish, in a roundabout kinda way, for Digital Spy report this morning that Tim and Gareth are going on secondment to the US Office, guest staring in one episode of the show, which is executive produced by Ricky Gervais. As for "the big man" himself, as co-producer Ben Silverman calls him, Gervais hasn’t ruled out an appearance in the US version of the show that made him a household name, and may well appear later in the year.
