Auntie reports that our favourite carer Lou comedian David Walliams will be attempting to swim the Channel in aid of Sport Relief. True to form, the Beeb will be squeezing a few hours coverage out of it, to be screened on July 14. David is quoted as saying he thinks he has a 50/50 chance of making it across.
Foregoing the huge comic potential of making the attempt in drag, David will be wearing only Speedos and goggles. That will still look pretty funny, I reckon. And don't worry if you get 80% of the way there and can't make the rest David. You can always turn round and come back. [John Beresford]
