Tonight’s a very big night for me, people. It’s the night when at long last The Apprentice will end. I don’t care who wins. All I care about is being able to resume normal life, take part in normal conversations and attend social events without having to hear about it.

So, it’s Michelle or Ruth, or "beauty or the badger" as it’s so charmingly been dubbed. I think I’m going to support Ruth, purely because I’m a bit of a softie, and it really can’t be nice having people constantly make reference to how bad your clothes are. Oh no, wait – I just did it, didn’t I? Sorry Ruth.

Tonight’s winner gets to become the real-life apprentice of Sir Alan Sugar. Personally, I’d be hard-pushed to imagine anything much worse than that, which just goes to show that it does indeed take all kinds.
