Chances are, not many of you watch Comic Relief these days. It is usually a turgid affair. Will Young performing a duet with Dawn French. Jim Davidson patronising an asian family. Viewers crying so hard that they evaporate, gathering rainclouds on the ceiling, only to cry back on to the carpet again. You know the score. And yes, I know it's all for a good cause. Don't start.
Well. Sometimes, just sometimes, one can be very wrong indeed.
Whilst all this scoffing was being done, Comic Relief actually came up trumps. Shit knows when this happened, but boy, I'm glad it did. Assemble a cast made up of people from Little Britain, Spaced, Green Wing, Brass-Eye, The Office... and put them all into a brilliant pastiche of Blankety Blank.
Set the scene. Early 80's. BetaMax videos for prizes. Crap celebrity guests. A tiny tiny tiny Blankety Blank Chequebook and pen. Gunfire. A nervous breakdown... and Nick Frost steals it all with the greatest Willie Rushton impression ever.
